At this point, climbing is not an official sport included in the National Senior Games, but ASCEND will work to change that by amplifying the visibility and increase participation. We'll do this in three key ways:
The NSG will be in Pittsburgh from July 7-18. On Saturday, July 15, from 10a - 2p at ASCEND Point Breeze, we're hosting a senior climbing event, including two activities, both of which are free for ASCEND members and 50% off for Day Pass guests (see above for promo code). No need to pre-register for these events.
NEW CLIMBER EDUCATION: New to climbing and looking for some expert advice and education? We got you! We'll have ASCEND coaches and members of the ASCEND Over The Mountain Club (our senior climbing club) there to show you the ropes! Just show up and we'll take care of the rest.
EXPERIENCED CLIMBER COMPETITION: Already know how to climb, and want to go for gold? Grab a scorecard and get climbing! The format will be simple... log all the rope climbs you can send before 2p, tally up your points, and hope for the best. The main goal is to have fun and try hard, but we'll also award top finishers some ASCEND swag!
